Prep Time: Cook time: Ingredients: 1 cupRice flour,2 tablespoonsChana dal (Bengal Gram Dal), soaked for 30 min,2 tablespoonsRoasted Peanuts, coarsely pounded,2Green Chilies, finely chopped,1 inchGinger, grated,2 tablespoonsCooking oil, and more to deep fry,10Curry leaves, finely chopped,Saltto taste, Instructions: In a pestle and mortar, pound the ginger and green chilies to make a paste and in a large mixing bowl add roasted peanuts, 2 tsp oil, salt, chana dal, rice flour, chopped curry leaves, and green chili and ginger paste. Make a coarse mixture of the rice flour dough and add a little water at a time and knead to make a firm dough and the dough should be such that when u take a portion of the dough in our hands and hold it together and flatten it, it should hold its shape. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and allow it to rest until you start frying. Heat oil in a hea vy bottomed pan for deep frying and grease your palms and fingers with little oil, take small portions of the dough and flatten it with your fingers to make a disc. Deep fry these discs (Chekkalu) in the preheated oil on medium flame until it is golden brown and crisp. Once done, remove from the oil and drain on paper towels and once it cools down, store in airtight containers and use when required. Ingredients

  • 1 cupRice flour
  • 2 tablespoonsChana dal (Bengal Gram Dal), soaked for 30 min
  • 2 tablespoonsRoasted Peanuts, coarsely pounded
