Add onions and saute on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add rice, 3½ cups of hot water and salt, mix it well and pressure cook for 15 min. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid and separate each grain of rice lightly with a fork. Garnish with fried onions and fried cashews. Serve it hot. Ingredients

  • 1/4 cupghee
  • 1 1/2 cupsong grained rice (basmati) , soaked for 15 minutes and drained
  • 25 mm (1")cinnamon (dalchini)
  • 3cloves (laung / lavang)
  • 3cardamoms
  • 1 tspfinely chopped garlic (lehsun)
  • 1 tspfinely chopped ginger (adrak)
  • 1 1/2 cupssliced onions
  • saltto taste

For The Garnish

  • 1/4 cupfried onions
  • 1/4 cupfried cashew nuts (kaju)

Directions
