Add the green chillies, ginger, hing, curry leaves, turmeric powder and fry for a few seconds. Add the mashed potato , salt and mix it nicely and switch off the flame and add the lime juice and coriander leaves and mix it nicely and keep it aside to cool. In a bowl add the besan, rice flour, carom seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, oil, hing, salt and also add water and make a thick batter. Make small balls out of the potato mixture and dip each ball in the batter and heat a deep fry pan with oil and slowly drop the ball in the hot oil and fry on low flame till golden brown in color. Potato Bonda (also known as Aloo Bonda) is a deep fried spicy potato dumpling. It is prepared with spiced mashed potato filling coated with besan batter and then deep fried. It is crispy from outside and soft from inside. This snack is perfect evening tea time snack. Try this amazing snack at your home.  

Ingredients

For the potato filling

  • 5Potatoes (aloo), boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2 teaspoonMustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoonCumin seeds
  • 10Curry leaves, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi)
  • 3 Green Chilliesfinely chopped
  • 1 tablespoonCooking oil
  • 1 teaspoonGinger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoonAsafoetida (hing)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoonCoriander leaves (Dhania), chopped
  • 1 teaspoonLemon juice

Directions
