Prep Time: 10hour Cook time: 10min Ingredients: 2 cupscrumbled mawa (khoya),1/2 cupsugar,1/4 cupblanched , peeled and finely chopped pistachios,1/4 tspcardamom (elaichi) powder,a fewstrands of saffron (kesar) strands,1 tbspmilk, Instructions: In a non- stick pan, add mawa and sugar and switch on the flame and cook the mawa mixture on high flame for 1 minute and stir continuously. Reduce the flame to medium and cook for 5 minutes and stir continuously. Switch off the flame, transfer it into a bowl and keep it aside to cool for 6 to 7 hours. Add the saffron and milk in a small bowl, mix it well and keep it aside. Crumble the mawa with your fingertips and add the pistachios, cardamom powder and saffron-milk mixture, mix it well. Take a portion of the mawa mixture, place it on one side of the Modak mold and close the Modak mold tightly. Mawa Modak is a melt in mouth sweet that you can easily prepare in your home. This Modak is made with mawa/khoya (milk solids), sugar, and nuts. This is a traditional sweet dish that is offered to Lord Ganesh on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. It has a nice unique taste and flavor and also nice texture. Let’s follow this Modak recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cupscrumbled mawa (khoya)
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1/4 cupblanched , peeled and finely chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 tspcardamom (elaichi) powder
  • a fewstrands of saffron (kesar) strands
  • 1 tbspmilk

Directions

  • In a non- stick pan, add mawa and sugar and switch on the flame and cook the mawa mixture on high flame for 1 minute and stir continuously.
