Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes and slice onion, chop chili, tomatoes, coriander leaves. In a pressure cooker heat, oil or ghee add cumin, caraway seeds, fennel seeds, whole garam masala and saute until the seeds cracks, add ginger-garlic paste and saute until golden brown in color. Add onion, and cook until onion becomes soft and lobia and saute for 2-3 minutes. Add red chili, coriander, turmeric powders and give a good stir, add tomato and cook for a minute. Add rice and gently stir, saute for 2 minutes and add coconut milk, water, salt, garam masala, coriander leaves and mix it well. Pressure cook for 25 min and once pressure is released gently mix the biryani with a fork. Serve it hot with any raita of your choice. Variations You can add any vegetables of your choice. You can replace coconut milk with water or use 1:1 of water and coconut milk. Don't add too much water or coconut milk use as mention or a little less or else the rice will get mashed. Ingredients

  • 3/4 CupChawli/Lobia (black eyed beans)
  • 2 CupsBasmati Rice
  • 1 LargeOnion
  • 1 LargeTomatoes
  • 3Green Chili
  • 1/2 tbspGinger-Garlic Paste
  • 3/4 tspRed Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tspCoriander Seeds Powder
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tspGaram Masala Powder
  • 2 CupsCoconut Milk
  • saltTo Taste
  • 1.5 CupsWater

Directions
