Cover it with a muslin cloth and keep the dough aside for 15 minutes. For the filing Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add the semolina and fry it on a low flame for 2 minutes. Add the khoya and sugar, mix it nicely and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute. Add the cardamom powder and switch off the flame and divide the filling into equal portions and keep it aside. Roll out a portion of the dough into a 125 mm. (5”) diameter circle and dust little plain flour on it. Place a portion of the filling in the center of the circle and bring all the sides together, press a little and roll again into a circle of 150 mm. (6”) diameter. Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle), cook the Puranpoli till it turns brown in color from both the sides. Place it on a serving plate and brush little ghee on each Puranpoli and serve it hot. Shahi Puran Poli is a traditional dish of Maharashtra and generally prepared during Sankranthi. This is an innovative and rich version of original Puran Poli. It is a wholesome and delicious dish prepared with mawa, rava, and flavored with cardamom. This dish can be very easily prepare at your home within few minutes. Let’s follow this recipe. 

Ingredients

For The Dough

  • 1 cupwhole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
