Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow them to crackle. Add onions, curry leaves, ginger, green chilies and fry until the onions are tender and changed into a light golden color and add potatoes and fry for a minute. Add the flatten rice and add 3 tablespoons of water and mix it nicely and cook on a low flame for 4-5 minutes and you notice that the flattened rice has fluffed up a little. Switch off the flame and squeezed lemon juice, steamed peas, roasted peanuts and chopped coriander leaves. Garnish with pomegranate and serve it hot with a cup of tea. By Meghna Nath

Aloo Poha(Flattened rice) is a quick and easy breakfast recipe that is made using flattened rice and potato. This Indian breakfast recipe is very popular among all. This light dish can be also served as a great snack. It is very easy to prepare with few ingredient within few minutes.  

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 CupsThick Flattened Rice (Poha)
  • 1 Or 2 Potatoes (Aloo)Boiled, Peeled & Cubed
  • 1/4 CupGreen Peas, Steamed
  • 1/2 TeaspoonMustard Seeds
  • 1/2 TeaspoonCumin Seeds
  • 5-6 Curry LeavesFinely Chopped
  • 1Onion Finely Chopped Onion
  • 2 Green ChiliesSlit Lengthwise
