Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 10min Ingredients: 1medium sized tomato, roughly chopped,1 inchginger, finely chopped,fewcurry leaves / kadi patta,1green chili, slit lengthwise,3 tbspcoriander leaves / daniya patta, finely chopped,½ tspturmeric / haldi,4 cupwater, add as required,1 cupcooked toor dal( in a pressure cooker add the add dal with enough water and cook till soft),saltto taste,½lemon, for tempering 1 tbspghee / clarified butter,1 tspmustard / rai,½ tspcumin / jeera,1dried red chili, broken,fewcurry leaves / kadi patta,pinchof asafoetida / hing,½ tsppepper, crushed, Instructions: In a deep pan add tomatoes, ginger, chili, coriander leaves, and curry leaves and also add turmeric and water and cook for 10 min or until tomatoes turn soft and mushy. Add pressure cooked toor dal, salt, and water as needed and cook on a low flame. Meanwhile, heat a pan with ghee and add mustard seeds, cumin, red chili, curry leaves, asafoetida and pepper and fry for a second Pour the tempering into the tomato and dal mixture and mix it nicely and cook on low flame for a second Switch off the flame and squeeze the lemon juice and mix it well and serve it hot with rice. Ingredients

  • 1medium sized tomato, roughly chopped
  • 1 inchginger, finely chopped
  • fewcurry leaves / kadi patta
  • 1green chili, slit lengthwise
  • 3 tbspcoriander leaves / daniya patta, finely chopped
  • ½ tspturmeric / haldi
  • 4 cupwater, add as required
  • 1 cupcooked toor dal( in a pressure cooker add the add dal with enough water and cook till soft)

  • 1 tbspghee / clarified butter

Directions
