Prep Time: Cook time: Ingredients: For The Batter 3/4 cupsoaked yellow moong dal (split yellow gram),3green chilies,saltto taste,1 1/2 tspsugar,a pinchof asafoetida (hing),1 tbspoil,1/2 tspturmeric powder (haldi),1 tbspbesan (Bengal gram flour),2 tbspcurd (dahi),1 1/2 tspfruit salt, For The Tempering 1 tbspoil,1/2 tspmustard seeds ( rai / sarson),1/2 tspsesame seeds (til),a pinchlasafoetida (hing),2 tspfinely chopped green chilies, For The Garnish 1 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania),1 tbspgrated coconut, Instructions: Grease a 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali ( plate) with oil and keep it aside. In a blender add yellow moong dal, a little water, and green chilies and blend to a smooth paste. Transfer the paste to a bowl, add the salt, sugar, asafoetida, oil, turmeric powder, besan. and curd and mix it well and make a smooth and thick batter. Just before steaming, sprinkle fruit salt and mix it lightly and pour the batter into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali. Steam in a steamer for 10 to 12 minutes or till the dhoklas are cooked and once done, keep it aside. Heat the oil in a small non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds and when the mustard seeds crackle, add the sesame seeds, asafoetida and fry on a medium flame for 30 seconds. Add the green chilies and fry on a medium flame for 30 seconds and pour the tempering over the prepared dhoklas and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the coriander and coconut evenly on top. Moong Dal Dhokla Recipe

Ingredients

For The Batter

  • 3/4 cupsoaked yellow moong dal (split yellow gram)
  • 3green chilies
  • saltto taste
  • 1 1/2 tspsugar
  • a pinchof asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tbspoil
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder (haldi)

Directions
