Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 20min Ingredients: 3/4 cupUrad dal (split black lentils),1/2 tspCoarsely crushed black pepper (kalimirch),1/4 cupChopped fresh coconut,1/2 tspasafoetida (hing),1 tbspChopped curry leaves (kadi patta),Saltto taste,Oilor for deep-frying, Instructions: Clean, wash and soak the urad dal in enough water for 2 hours and drain the water from it and keep it aside. Then transfer it on a blender and also add 2 tbsp of water and blend to a smooth paste and transfer the mixture into a deep bowl. Then add crushed black pepper, chopped coconut, hing, chopped curry leaves, salt and mix it well. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai, shape each portion into a round and deep-fry, a few at a time and fry till they turn golden brown in color from both the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve it with any chutney of your choice.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tspasafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tbspChopped curry leaves (kadi patta)
