Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 15min Ingredients: 1 cup Rice Flour,1/3 cup Jaggery,JaggeryGhee,2 cupsWater,2 tablespoonsCoconut,½ tablespoonCardamom powder, Instructions: Take water in a vessel and heat it for 2 minutes Add jiggery and allow it to melt on a low flame Add 2 tablespoons of grated coconut, cardamom powder and mix them well Reduce the flame and then slowly add rice flour to water Keep stirring the water and rice flour while adding Place the lid and let it cook for about 1 minute Stir it once again and close the lid. Cook for one more minute Off the flame and do not remove the lid immediately Allow to cool so that you can handle it to shape the mixture into balls Grease your hand with ghee and shape the mixture into balls Flatten them lightly as shown in the image and place them on ghee greased plate or idli plate Steam them just like you steam the idlis for about 8 to 10 minutes on medium heat Once they are steamed well, off the flame and allow the pressure to ease Remove the lid and place the kudumulu on a serving plate Offer the prasadam to Lord Ganesh on Vinayaka Chavithi. You can also add chana dal or even Bengal gram before adding the rice flour.

Bellam Kudumulu otherwise called as Teepi Kudumulu is an Andhra traditional dish that usually prepared for Vinayaka Chavithi. It is prepared with rice flour and this dish is a popular festive treat for Lord Ganesha. Have a glance to step by step preparation process.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1/3 cup Jaggery
  • JaggeryGhee
  • 2 cupsWater
  • 2 tablespoonsCoconut
  • ½ tablespoonCardamom powder

Directions

  • Take water in a vessel and heat it for 2 minutes
  • Add jiggery and allow it to melt on a low flame
  • Add 2 tablespoons of grated coconut, cardamom powder and mix them well
  • Reduce the flame and then slowly add rice flour to water
  • Keep stirring the water and rice flour while adding
  • Place the lid and let it cook for about 1 minute
  • Stir it once again and close the lid. Cook for one more minute
  • Off the flame and do not remove the lid immediately
  • Allow to cool so that you can handle it to shape the mixture into balls
