Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 15min Ingredients: ½ cupPoha,2 ½ tablespoonsMoong dal,1/3 cupSugar,3 tablespoonsMilk,6Cashew nuts,¼ teaspoonCardamom powder,10Raisins,2 tablespoonsGhee, Instructions: Dry roast moong dal for about 2 to 3 minutes Cook it until it turns soft and mash it with spoon Keep it aside. Wash poha 2 to 3 times and drain the water completely Let it sit for about 15 minutes so that it becomes soft Place a pan on flame and add ghee to it Fry cashews and raisins. Remove them on plate Boil sugar with ½ teaspoon of ghee and add mashed dal to it Cook it on medium flame until it slightly thickens Fluff the poha with fork and add it to the sugar mixture Mix them well. When it is thickened, add milk to it and cook for 2 to 3 minutes Add cashew nuts and raising to it Add cardamom powder and ghee Mix them well and off the flame As Sweet Poha Pongal thickens as it cools, remove it from flame when it is semi thick consistency Serve it hot with little ghee. The Plain Ven Pongal is also prepared following the same steps instead replace poha with boiled rice and add sugar mixture to boiled moongdal and rice. Sweet Poha Pongal also called as Aval Sakkarai Pongal is one of the easiest and quickest sweet that is generally prepared during pongal festival. It tastes heavenly when you have it hot. Have a glance and try it at home.

Ingredients

  • ½ cupPoha
  • 2 ½ tablespoonsMoong dal
  • 1/3 cupSugar
  • 3 tablespoonsMilk
  • 6Cashew nuts
  • ¼ teaspoonCardamom powder
  • 10Raisins
  • 2 tablespoonsGhee

Directions

  • Dry roast moong dal for about 2 to 3 minutes
