Paruppu Usili is a very popular dish generally seen in Brahmin houses. Try this yummy Paruppu Usili with Beans and have it with sambar or rasam.

Ingredients

  • 1 cupCluster beans
  • ¼ cupChana dal
  • ¼ cupTur dal
  • 2Dried red chilies
  • 1Green chili
  • pinchTurmeric powder
  • Saltto taste
  • 2 tablespoonsOil
  • 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
  • 10 leavesCurry leaves

Directions

  • Wash and soak the dals in water for about 30 minutes
  • Grind them along with red chilies, green chilies and salt
  • Wash beans and trim it edges
  • Chop beans into small pieces
  • Boil it with water till they become tender
  • Make balls with the ground mixture and steam them in idli platesfor about 10 minutes
  • Crumble them with hands and keep them aside
  • Place pan on flame and add oil to it
