Prep Time: 25min Cook time: 20min Ingredients: 1 cupRice,1/2 cupChana dal (Bengal Gram Dal), soaked and drained,1/4 tspAsafoetida (hing),1/2 tspCumin seeds,2 Green Chiliessliced or chopped,1/2 teaspoonGinger, grated,1/2 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi),Salt to taste, Instructions: Wash the rice and chana dal in enough water and soak the rice and dal in water separately for an hour. Heat a pressure cooker and add chana dal and also add enough water and Cook it for 20 min and once done, switch off the flame and keep it aside. Heat oil in a wide pan, add bay leaf, cumin seeds, cinnamon and asafoetida and fry it for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, add green chilies and ginger and cook it for few min. Add rice, cooked chana dal, turmeric powder and salt according to your taste and cook for a minute. After a minute, add 2 cups of water and mix it well and cook it for 20-25 minutes on a medium flame till it becomes dry and tender. Ingredients

  • 1 cupRice
  • 1/2 cupChana dal (Bengal Gram Dal), soaked and drained
