In a pan add enough water and add the broccoli and steam the broccoli for 3-4 minutes and keep it aside In a deep pan add chana dal and water and cook for 10 minutes and drain the water and keep it aside. In a pan dry roast cardamom and cloves and grind them to a powder using a mortar and pestle. In a blender add broccoli, cooked chana dal, salt, spinach, mint, coriander, freshly blended spices, pepper powder and lemon juice and blend to a smooth paste. Transfer it to a bowl and add mashed potatoes and cashew powder and mix it well. This mixture should not be sticky.( Make sure to drain the water from all the ingredients after washing and cooking). Now shape this mixture into long cylinders and pierce the skewers through the cylinder and shape them between your thumb and gently roll the skewer on a flat surface. Drizzle some oil on a grill pan and place these skewers and cook on all the sides evenly on a low to medium flame. Sprinkle with Chaat masala powder and serve with sliced onions and green chutney.
