After 3-4 hours or the next morning, blend the rice, methi seeds, and urad dal together with a little water and blend until it forms a smooth batter. Add roughly chopped tomatoes to the batter and blend for few more minutes and transfer the batter to a bowl and add salt and mix it well. Add cooking soda and mix it again and keep it aside for 10 minutes. Heat a skillet or tawa and pour a ladleful of the batter on the tawa and spread the batter in a circular motion to make a 150 mm. (6") thick dosa. Drizzle a few drops of oil or ghee on the sides and cook on a low flame and cook it till the dosa is brown in color and crisp from both the sides.
