Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 40min Ingredients: 1/4 cupUrad dal (split black lentils),2 tbspPowdered roasted chana dal (daria),2 tbspBajra (black millet) flour,2 tbspBesan (gram flour),1/2 cupJowar (white millet) flour,1 tbspSoaked chana dal (split Bengal gram),1/2 tspAsafoetida (hing),2 tbspChopped curry leaves (kadi patta),2 tspHot oil,2 tspChili powder,1/4 tspTurmeric powder (haldi),Saltto taste,1/2 tspOil for greasing, Instructions: Heat a broad non-stick pan, add the urad dal and roasted chana dal and dry roast on a medium flame for 3 minutes. Keep it aside to cool completely and once cooled, blend in a mixer till smooth powder. Transfer the powder in a deep bowl, add bajra flour, besan, jowar flour, soaked chana dal, hing, chopped curry leaves, hot oil, chili powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix it well and knead into soft dough by using enough water. Divide the dough into equal portions and take 1 plastic sheet and lightly grease it with oil. Flatten a portion of the dough on it and lightly press the dough with your fingers evenly to make a 75 mm. (3”) diameter round circle. Remove from the plastic and keep it aside. Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle) and cook 5 circles on it, while press them by using folded muslin cloth or khakhra press and fry till they turn crisp and golden brown in color from both the sides. Cool it completely and store in an airtight container and enjoy whenever you want to. Healthy Baked Thattai (Savory Crackers) Recipe

Baked Thattai (Savory Crackers) is a popular South Indian snack that you can very easily prepare at your home. This snack is a healthy as it is baked and also a healthy version of deep fried Thattai. This snack is a prefect evening snack with a cup of tea and you can also munch this snack anytime in the day. This snack dish perfect fish when your travailing and can also be packed in your kid’s snack box.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cupUrad dal (split black lentils)
  • 2 tbspPowdered roasted chana dal (daria)
  • 2 tbspBajra (black millet) flour
  • 2 tbspBesan (gram flour)
  • 1/2 cupJowar (white millet) flour
  • 1 tbspSoaked chana dal (split Bengal gram)
  • 1/2 tspAsafoetida (hing)

Directions
