Combination of chickpeas and poori is excellent in taste. Prep Time: 15min Cook time: 20min Ingredients: 1 cupAll purpose flour,½ teaspoonSugar,1 teaspoonSemolina,Saltto taste,pinchBaking powder,Oil,1 cupChick peas,1 cupOnion,1 ½ cupTomato,1Green chili,½ teaspoonGinger garlic paste,5Cashew nuts,1 tablespoonTomato sauce,¼ teaspoonTurmeric powder,¼ teaspoonChili powder,½ teaspoonChole masala powder,½ teaspoonChaat masala,Saltto taste,2 inch stickCinnamon,2Cloves,2Cardamom,1 teaspoonCumin seeds,¼ teaspoonSombu,½ tablespoonCoriander leaves,1 tablespoonButter, Instructions: Take a bowl and add maida, rava, salt, sugar and baking powder Mix them well Add warm water to it and make soft dough out of it Grease the hands with oil and knead the dough well with hands Cover it for 1 hour Make small lemon size balls with the dough and roll it into thin pooris Place a deep pan on flame and add oil to it Drop the prepared roll in hot oil and fry till the poori turns golden brown in color Heat the pooris on medium flame Remove them from oil after they are fried Continue the same process with rest of the dough Before preparing pooris, we shall prepare chole curry Wash the chickpeas with water and soak it in water over night Pressure cook the chick peas for 5 whistles until they become soft Soak them in hot water and grind it to a smooth paste Place a pan on flame and add oil to it Add finely chopped onions and fry them till they turn golden brown in color Add ginger garlic paste to the fried onions and saute it till the raw flavor goes away Add finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook until the raw flavor to the tomatoes disappears Add turmeric powder, chili powder, cashew nut paste, salt to the tomatoes mixture and fry for few more minutes Add boiled chikcpeas to it along with water Cook for 10 minutes and add tomato ketchup, chana masala to the above mixture Cook on low flame for about 10 more minutes Add chaat masala and cook for another few minutes Off the flame and garnish it with coriander leaves along with fresh cream Serve it hot with Chole Bhatura. Chole Bhature is a famous Punjabi dish that is taken as breakfast and also for lunch. It is the combination of cooked chole and fried Indian bread. Have a look.

Ingredients

  • 1 cupAll purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoonSugar
  • 1 teaspoonSemolina
  • Saltto taste
  • pinchBaking powder
  • Oil
  • 1 cupChick peas
  • 1 cupOnion
  • 1 ½ cupTomato
  • 1Green chili
  • ½ teaspoonGinger garlic paste
  • 5Cashew nuts
  • 1 tablespoonTomato sauce
  • ¼ teaspoonTurmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoonChili powder
  • ½ teaspoonChole masala powder
  • ½ teaspoonChaat masala
  • Saltto taste
  • 2 inch stickCinnamon
  • 2Cloves
  • 2Cardamom
  • 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoonSombu
  • ½ tablespoonCoriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoonButter

Directions

  • Take a bowl and add maida, rava, salt, sugar and baking powder
  • Mix them well
  • Add warm water to it and make soft dough out of it
  • Grease the hands with oil and knead the dough well with hands
  • Cover it for 1 hour
  • Make small lemon size balls with the dough and roll it into thin pooris
  • Place a deep pan on flame and add oil to it
  • Drop the prepared roll in hot oil and fry till the poori turns golden brown in color
  • Heat the pooris on medium flame
  • Remove them from oil after they are fried
  • Continue the same process with rest of the dough
  • Before preparing pooris, we shall prepare chole curry
  • Wash the chickpeas with water and soak it in water over night
  • Pressure cook the chick peas for 5 whistles until they become soft
  • Soak them in hot water and grind it to a smooth paste
  • Place a pan on flame and add oil to it
  • Add finely chopped onions and fry them till they turn golden brown in color
  • Add ginger garlic paste to the fried onions and saute it till the raw flavor goes away
  • Add finely chopped tomatoes to it and cook until the raw flavor to the tomatoes disappears
  • Add turmeric powder, chili powder, cashew nut paste, salt to the tomatoes mixture and fry for few more minutes
  • Add boiled chikcpeas to it along with water
  • Cook for 10 minutes and add tomato ketchup, chana masala to the above mixture
  • Cook on low flame for about 10 more minutes
  • Add chaat masala and cook for another few minutes
  • Off the flame and garnish it with coriander leaves along with fresh cream
  • Serve it hot with Chole Bhatura.

You can also have it with Coconut Rice.
