Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 20min Ingredients: 8slices of whole wheat bread,8sliced onions,2 tsplow-fat butter for cooking, For The Sprouts Mixture 1 cupboiled mixed sprouts (moong, chana or sprouts of your choice.),2 tspoil,1/2 cupfinely chopped onions,2 tspginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste,1 tspfinely chopped green chilies,2 tsppav bhaji masala(easily available in the market),2 tspcoriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder,1/4 tspturmeric powder (haldi),1/2 tspblack salt (sanchal),1 1/2 cupsfinely chopped tomatoes,saltto taste,1/2 cupboiled, peeled and mashed potatoes, Instructions: For the sprouts Mixture Heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add onions and saute on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or till onion turn translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies and saute on a medium flame for a minute. Add pav bhaji masala, coriander-cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, black salt, tomatoes, salt and 2 tbsp of water, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes and stir occasionally. Add sprouts and potatoes, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 1minute. Divide the sprouts mixture into equal portions and keep it aside. How to proceed Place one whole wheat bread slice on a flat, dry surface and spread a portion of the sprouts mixture evenly over it. Top it with 2 onion slices and cover with another slice of whole wheat bread. Preheat the griller and grill the sandwich by using ½ tsp of low-fat butter till the sandwich turns crisp and brown in color from both the sides. Serve it hot with banana chips.
