In a deep pan add water and chana dal and blanch it in boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes and then drain the water and keep the chana dal aside. Heat the oil in a non-stick kadhai and add the cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add the green chillies and fry for a few seconds. Add the cabbage, chana dal, turmeric powder and salt and fry on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.   • 3 cupsshredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cupchana dal (split Bengal gram)
  • 2 tbspOil
  • 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
  • 2green chillies, slit
  • 1/4 tspturmeric powder (haldi)
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/4 cupfreshly grated coconut
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
