Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker, add the cloves, cinnamon, cumin seeds, cardamom, and asafoetida and fry on a medium flame for a few seconds. Add the onions and garlic paste and fry on a medium flame for 1 minute. Add the green peas, potatoes, and french beans and fry on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add the soaked rice, masoor dal, turmeric powder, green chili paste and salt and mix it nicely and fry on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add 4 cups of water, mix it well and pressure cook for 25 min and switch off the flame and allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Ingredients

  • 1 cupmasoor dal (split red lentil), washed and drained
  • 1/2 cupgreen peas
  • 1/4 cuppotato cubes (unpeeled)
  • 1/2 cupchopped french beans
