Then add the washed rice and 1 cup of water and mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 10-12 min and cook until the rice and the dal is cooked and do not over cook it and switch off the flame. In a small pan and heat the ghee and add hing and whole red chili and fry it and switch off the flame and pour this seasoning to the rice-dal mixture and mix it nicely Serve it hot with curd and papad. Ingredients

  • ¾ cupUrad dal (Black lentil)
  • 1 cupRice
  • ½ inchGinger piece
  • 1 pieceGreen chili
  • a pinchHing (Asafoetida)
  • Saltto taste
  • few dropsRefined oil

For seasoning

  • 1 pieceWhole red chili
  • 2 tablespoonGhee
  • a pinchHing (Asafoetida)

Directions

  • Wash the urad dal and rice separately and keep it aside.
