Knead it again with remaining 1/2 tbsp of oil and a little water and knead till the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a muslin cloth and keep the dough aside for 15 to 20 minutes and after 20 min, divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each portion of the dough into a thin circle of 150 mm. (6”) diameter and dust a little whole wheat flour. Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle) on a high flame and when the tawa is hot, place the roti gently over it. Cook it till small blisters appear on the surface and flip it and cook for few second and then cook it on an open flame till it puffs up and brown spots appear on both the sides. Soft and Easy Roti Recipe

Roti is a soft and puffed Indian flat bread. This roti is a daily bread for many regional Indian cuisines. It is not only rich in fiber but also low in fat and very light. It is perfect for morning breakfast and best with any side dish.  

Ingredients

  • 1 CupWhole Wheat Flour (Gehun Ka Atta)
  • 1 1/2 TbspOil
  • A Pinch OfSalt (Optional)
  • For RollingWhole Wheat Flour (Gehun Ka Atta)
  • For BrushingGhee

Directions

  • In a bowl add flour, 1 tbsp of oil, salt, and enough water and knead into a soft dough and keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Knead it again with remaining 1/2 tbsp of oil and a little water and knead till the dough is smooth and elastic.
