When dal is completely boiled, switch off the flame and mash the dal with the help of a hand blender and keep it aside. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a deep pan and add 1 tsp mustard seeds and 1 tsp cumin seeds. and then add 1 bay leaf and 1 whole dried red chili and fry for a few second on low flame. Add finely chopped onion, chopped green chili, chopped garlic and chopped ginger. and cook it on low flame, stir it and then add few curry leaves and cook for 2-3 min on a low flame. Add chopped tomato and mix it well and add red chili powder, pinch of asafoetida and coriander powder and fry for few minutes on low flame, Then add the boiled dal and 1 cup of water and add salt and cook on a low flame for 2-3 more minutes, add crushed kasoori methi and fine chopped fresh coriander leaves and mix it nicely and serve it hot with jeera rice. Ingredients

  • 1 cupToor dal
  • 1 mediumsize finely chopped onion
  • 1finely chopped tomato
  • 12-15cloves of garlic, fine chopped

  • 1green chili, chopped
