Add the soaked rice, moong dal, turmeric powder and salt, mix well and add 5 cups of water and mix it well. Cover with the lid and pressure cook for 25 min or till the rice and dal get properly cooked. Serve it hot with vegetable salad and pickle. Ingredients

  • 1 cuprice (chawal)
  • 1/2 cupmoong dal (split green gram)
  • 2 tbspghee
  • 4cloves (laung / lavang)
  • 1 inchstick cinnamon (dalchini)
  • 1 tspmustard seeds (rai / sarson)
  • 2 tspchopped ginger (adrak)
  • 3 tspchopped garlic (lehsun)
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder (haldi)

Directions
